The Central Baptist Church is a progressive and innovative church family with a theme of “Reclaiming Our Families Through Patience, Perseverance, and Prayer.”  We have a myriad of talents and gifts within our church body.  We believe in the holistic approach to ministry, and we have over forty ministries to help the total person.  Our church family is friendly and faithful…and truly the Favor of God is upon us.  We are excited about the vision that God has placed upon the ministry of this church.  God never gives a vision without making provisions!


The Central Baptist Church will observe our annual “Senior Citizens Day” on Sunday, October 20th during our 11:00 a. m. worship service.

Pastor Ezell will preach at the Honey Ford Baptist Church in Denmark, SC on Sunday October 27th at 3:00 p. m. The United Voices are asked to accompany the pastor.

The month of October is “Clergy Appreciation Month”. It gives our church family an opportunity to show love and support for our pastor during this time.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We will observe “Breast Cancer Awareness” on Sunday, October 20th. All members are asked to wear the color pink to show our support.

The Youth Ministry will have choir rehearsal on the next two Saturdays to prepare for their 56th anniversary celebration. Rehearsal will be held on Saturday, October 19th and Saturday, October 26th at 10:00 a.m

Central Baptist Church Education Ministry is sponsoring a College Expo, Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 a. m. - 1:00 pm. All Parents, Middle and High School students are asked to attend.

The One Hundred Fifty-Second Annual Session of the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Association will be held at the Second Nazareth Baptist Church, 2336 Elmwood Ave. - Rev. Dr. Johnny Ray Noble is the pastor. “Christmas at Central” will be held on December 22nd during our 11:00 a. m. worship service. Sponsors are needed to adopt families. Sponsor forms are available in the vestibule and rear entrances of the church. October 20th is the deadline to submit sponsor forms to the church office.

All 2020 High School and College graduates are asked to contact the church office to give your name and contact information to the church secretary.

All Auxiliaries/Ministries desiring to have upcoming events, meetings or choir rehearsals must call the church office to schedule no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Noon Day and Evening Bible Study is held on Wednesdays, at 12 noon and 6:00 p. m. Come out and study God's word. We are studying spiritual gifts.

All individuals who are signed up to work the Transition Homeless Center, Central is still volunteering. We are working the 6:30 a.m. and the 11:30 a.m. shifts. If you would like to volunteer, Central Baptist Church will serve the 1st Saturday of each month. Please contact Deaconess Lou Ella Williams if you are interested in volunteering on one of these dates. Thank you.

The Girl Scouts are now registering for enrollment for ages K-5 thru 12th grade. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. Interested girls and their parents can contact the church office for more information.

Sunday School classes begin at 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. each Sunday.

The Media Ministry is seeking new members. Please sign-up at the media booth at the end of the 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services.

The new Honor Roll Recognition Guidelines are as follows: All students in grades 1 - 12 must submit copies of report cards by the requested deadline. All students submitting report cards must also attach a Youth Ministry Participation Form to demonstrate that they are actively participating in a ministry.

The Veteran's Ministry is available to meet on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. Help is available for VA matters for all male and female veterans as well as their family members. Contact the church office to schedule an appointment.

Pastor Ezell sends out a devotional message on a weekly basis via our phone tree messenger system. If you would like to receive this message, call the church to ensure that we have the correct telephone number.

Central Baptist Transportation Ministry is in need of drivers. If you are a member and have an interest in joining our Transportation Ministry, please call the church office to submit your name.

Central Baptist members are asked to submit their email address to the church office by forwarding an email to the church's email address @ info@centralbaptistcolumbia.org. Our goal is to get information out to the church family quickly by using all available technology.

Auxiliaries/Ministries desiring to have upcoming events announced must submit information to the church office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
