The Central Baptist Church is a progressive and innovative church family with a theme of “Reclaiming Our Families Through Patience, Perseverance, and Prayer.”  We have a myriad of talents and gifts within our church body.  We believe in the holistic approach to ministry, and we have over forty ministries to help the total person.  Our church family is friendly and faithful…and truly the Favor of God is upon us.  We are excited about the vision that God has placed upon the ministry of this church.  God never gives a vision without making provisions!


The month of October is "Clergy Appreciation Month". It gives our church family an opportunity to show love and support for our pastor during this time.

Congratulations to the Jubilee Choir as they celebrate their 85th choir anniversary on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

The Youth Ministry will celebrate 55 years of proclaiming Christ through songs on Sunday, October 28, 2018 during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Rehearsal will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

The 151st Annual Session of the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Association will be held at the Second Calvary Baptist Church - 1110 Mason Road - Columbia, SC. Rev. Dr. Carl Wells is the pastor. Classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. - 7:25 p.m.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We will observe "Breast Cancer Awareness" on next Sunday, October 21st. All members are asked to wear the color pick to show our support.

Central Baptist Church and Midlands Society for Social Change presents: "Women of Color: Leading The Way" - A Domestic Violence Awareness Program on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. The speaker is State Representative, Gilda Cobb-Hunter. This event is free to the public. A free will offering to support C.A.S.A. will be lifted. “Christmas at Central” will be held on Sunday, December 23rd following our 11:00 a.m. worship service. Sponsors are needed to adopt families. Sponsor forms are available in the vestibule and rear entrances. Please submit completed sponsor forms to the church office.

Sunday School classes begin at 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. each Sunday.

If you would like to serve on the Public Relations Ministry, please call the church office to give your name.

All young adults (ages 18 to 35 years of age) are encouraged to come out and support our Young Adult Sunday School Program. Class will be held each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in Room 102. It will be an interactive and exciting time of exploring God's Word. We hope to see you there!!!

We would like to thank our church family for their faithfulness in our stewardship efforts. Our membership has been faithful in the rendering of their time, talent, and tithes. God always rewards us for our faithfulness.

The Central Baptist Church Male Chorus invites all interested members to join the male chorus ministry. Rehearsals are held every 4th Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Deacon Willie Bryant.

The Media Ministry is seeking new members. Please sign-up at the media booth at the end of the 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services.

Central Baptist Church recently organized a Young Adult Choir for ages 18 and above. Those desiring membership are asked to call the church office to sign up.

The Veteran's Ministry is available to meet on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. Help is available for VA matters for all male and female veterans as well as their family members. Contact the church office to schedule an appointment.

Pastor Ezell sends out a devotional message on a weekly basis via our phone tree messenger system. If you would like to receive this message, call the church to ensure that we have the correct telephone number.

Central Baptist Transportation Ministry is in need of drivers. If you are a member and have an interest in joining our Transportation Ministry, please call the church office to submit your name.

Central Baptist members are asked to submit their email address to the church office by forwarding an email to the church's email address @ info@centralbaptistcolumbia.org. Our goal is to get information out to the church family quickly by using all available technology.

Auxiliaries/Ministries desiring to have upcoming events announced must submit information to the church office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
